Algeria joins the Madrid Protocol

WIPO reports about the accession of Algeria to the Madrid Protocol for international registration of trademarks. The Protocol will enter into force for the country on 31.10.2015.

Algeria was the last country, part of The Madrid system, which wasn’t sign the Protocol. From now on, all international registrations of marks will be exclusively governed by the Madrid Protocol. As a result, the filing and management of international registrations will be simplified for users.

Нови изисквания за подновяване регистрацията на марки в Алжир – New requirements for renewal of trademarks in Algeria

Afro-IP съобщава за промяна на процедурата за подновяване срокът на регистрация на търговски марки в Алжир. Според новите правила при подновяване ще бъде нужно да се докаже реално използване на марката на територията на страната за годината предхождаща подновяването.

Afro-IP reports about a new procedure for renewal of trademarks in Algeria. According to the new rules in case of trademark renewal the holder should prove trademark use on the territory of the country in the year preceding the renewal deadline.

Алжир се присъедини към Договорът за авторско право на WIPO – Algeria has joined WIPO The Copyright Treaty

WIPO съобщава за присъединяването на Алжир към Договорът за авторско право (WCT). Договорът влиза в сила за страната от 31.01.2014.

WIPO has reported about the accession of Algeria to the WIPO Copyright Treaty (WCT). This Treaty shall enter into force for the country on 01/31/2014.

Регистрация на марки в Алжир – изисквания – Registration of Marks in Algeria – requirements

Afro Leo съобщи за едно важно изискване на Патентното ведомство на Алжир при подаване на заявки за търговски марки в страната.
Ведомството от скоро е започнало да изисква цветно сканирано копие на пълномощното за представителя по индустриална собственост, както и на самата заявка за марка.
Оригиналите на документацията трябва да бъдат изпратени на Ведомството в рамките на 3 месeца според предишната практика.

Afro Leo noted about one important requirement of Algerian Patent Office concerning applications for trademarks in the country.
The Office has recently required colored scanned copy of the Power of Attorney plus the application for trademark. Original documents can be send within 3 mounts, according to the previous practice.
