Tiffany succeeded againts counterfeit websites

TBO reports about a successful permanent injunction awarded to Tiffany by a court in Florida, US.

The case at hand concerns lawsuits against 70 online businesses selling fake goods bearing Tiffany’s registered the US trademarks № 1,968,614 and № 1,669,365.

According to the company, these online retailers are part of an illegal scheme which main aim is to take advantages of Tiffany’s reputation and intellectual property. These retailers used a family of registered domain manes in various countries around the world, including tiffanycos.cn, tiffanyweddings.cn and tiffanynecklace.com.cn.

The Court accepted Tiffany’s claims as valid and ordered a permanent injunction. Statutory damages up to $1 million threatened each of the defendants.
