IP Kat reports an interesting case study concerning a photo published by Wikipedia.
Photographer David Slater claims that he is the author of a photograph that depicts macaque monkey. The problem is that the photo was not taken by the photographer, but by the monkey which takes his camera and make some pictures randomly.
According to Wikipedia there is no copyright because the photographer didn’t make the photo.
According to David Slater, he is the author of the picture because did all necessary settings on the camera, the monkey only press the button.

This is very interesting case study. The key issue here is weather the macaque made an intellectual effort to make the photo or not, a joke of course.
